New Certification in Trauma Mindfulness

I am excited to have completed this amazing course, and to have more tools to help folks along the social equity journey! I have been recieved a certification in Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness through David Treleaven, Ph.D. It provides a practitioners guide to recognizing trauma, Responding skillfully, and preventing retraumatization.

What many people and organizations don't consider when beginning DEI work is that the process is not simply uncomfortable or awkward. For a great number of employees who have a lived experience of violence and inequity, the process can be downright traumatic and can re-traumatize folks -- especially if they hold socially marginalized identities and/or intersections.

My hope is to incorporate this information into my consultation and training work to both facilitate an environment where those who need to expand horizons of understanding grapple and grow; And where those who already share horizons of understanding are not re-traumatized and affirmed in their experiences during the process!
